My heart lives in France, my art obsession knows no borders, and I’ll always come home to Northern California. I’m Terri Hanson Mead, Gen X traveler, helicopter pilot, author of Piloting Your Life, and Stanford Continuing Studies instructor who believes midlife is when the real adventures begin. Not the “slow down and be sensible” kind of adventures. The kind where you book the trip, eat the thing, stand in front of the painting that makes you cry, and order the good champagne. I’ve wandered through 300+ museums, churches, and palaces across Europe and beyond, developed an embarrassing obsession with modern art, German Expressionism, and Egon Schiele, and spent more time than I care to admit planning the perfect Alsatian village day trip. When I’m not chasing châteaux, Roman mosaics, and actively supporting women, I’m in the Bay Area, where the wine is great, the weather is fantastic, and I’m plotting the next adventure with my husband Zeke. The food here is incredible and can accommodate vegetarians. They even put together a special menu for my 17 year old the second time we went back.
